Very Nice Pics By Gerard Helmer

Thu Apr 14, 2005 1:43 pm

Hey guys, I am going to take this opportunity to recognize fellow a.net photographer Gerard Helmer for providing us with unique pictures from remote places that are seldom visited and showing us some unique aircraft. I personally have been following his uploads since the very first ones because usually his shots come from locations like Bishkek or Yuzhno-Sahalinsk or Norilsk where few spotters have ever set foot and from dates about 10 years ago when alot more Russian airplanes were flying around. Most of his pictures are of aircraft first seen on a.net or even on photo. I hope other people like me who follow Soviet aviation have seen all these unique shots. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Check out the second pic, Tu-154 RA-85019 that must be one of the very first Tu-154s made! Also all those military Tu-134s are very seldom seen/photographed.

Ivan,

I love Russian aircrafts, most likely because they are so rare and special. Thanks for pointing them out, sometimes it is hard to find "trees for all the forrest" as we say here in Norway
still dreaming after all these years
