Public Apology.

Thu May 12, 2005 11:01 pm

I recently participated in a thread where I made the following statement.

"It is clear to me that the people making decisions regarding individual photographers work on this site have no people management skills or are eiher just too busy to care or just plain ignorant. This site is getting bigger and bigger by the day and it's time someone with a proffesional ability got a hold of it."

I here and now apologise fully for that outburst.

It was insensitive and wrong for me to write that given the time and dedication the screeners and editors give to this site and for the pleasure both I, and countless others gain from their work.

I don't know why I get so het up about stuff in these forums as all I want to do is enjoy the site. I'm going to keep my trap shut now and concentrate on the things that matter - like getting my photos right.

I have already sent a private apology to the crew member who was engaged in converstaion in the thread.

Regards

John

Pom?

Does that apply to us from Scotland or is it just for the English? Always wondered...

Poms are English only.

Pom - short for Port of Melbourne (where the ships docked), Prisoners Of her Majesty, as they were convict ships, or looking like a cargo of pomegranates when caught by the sun.

Incidentally ...........

How do you know, the Australians used to ask, when a planeload of Poms has arrived at Sydney Airport? Because, the answer went, the whining doesn’t stop when the engines are cut!

That's good to know... I've heard the one about the whining but it usually applies to the flight deck crew...

Another little pilot joke I heard (from a 747-400 Captain) was,

Q "What's the difference between God and a 747 Captain?"

A "God doesn't think he's a 747 Captain!!!"

I would actually agree with that statement. Very well said.

Hey john we all say things from time to time at the end of the day we are humans and sometimes we need to let the frustration out.
But you coming on the forums and apologizing for what you said shows you are a level headed person .
All the best

Your a gentleman John!  trophy

Drinks on me at Ceasers!  drunk

The screeners here have a very thankless job. They do it well and if the site is growing I am sure they will add some more screeners. If you have to wait a couple of days longer for your photos to be screened so be it.

That was a great night. I sure hope you can get back out this winter. Nothing beats a day of spotting and a night of debauchery!
