MAN Sunday, LH B744

Sun May 22, 2005 6:21 pm

Hello to the MAN-Photographer crew,

has anybody been at the airport this sunday morning? Lufthansa 457 from LAX to FRA diverded to MAN, it would be fantastic if any photographer has some arrival or departure shots.

Captain of this flight is my husband, a Manchester pic will be a fine addition to our collection  Smile

It was D-ABVH. Shame - I was going to go to MAN today, sadly the weather was against me and I decided not to!

Hello Anne,

I was there (it was a surprise, I must say) and took a few departure shots. Unfortunately there was some heat haze, but I shall edit them. Even if they are not up to A.net quality you are welcome to have a look at them.

Just let me know.

Paul

P.S. Tony Woof was there too and doubtless he will have some better shots. Not wishing to do myself down, but he's got a 'bigger lens'  biggrin .

P.P.S. Tell your husband that he rotated far too quickly for the two of us  wink .

Why was it diverted?

From the website above:

D-ABVH B744 Lufthansa LH 457 08:46 - Medical Diversion
I guess that's what happens in the end, you start thinking about the beginning.

Paul,

I'm stunned, not even sitting on the couch after a twelve hour flight from LAX to FRA via MAN due to medical emergency, about the speed you presented this picture to all those freaks out there.

Keep up the good work for all those involved and watch out - I might be in your neighbourhood next week...

Some guys here should think about their words and miserable jokes, they try here! Some comments are simply stupid and out of place.

You can read here TWICE the diversion reason, it was a medical diversion and not a joke. Everyone who knows only a bit about aviation - and I think most of the users here do so - should now, that a bit of ache or a bit of indisposition aren't reason enough for this decision!

There was a human beeing in acute danger for life, three physicians heavily fighting for her live - and loose the fight a few minutes after landing.

It was a really no good situation, and of course not the right place for your jokes!

Ulf and I are personally shocked about some peoples ignorant and irreverent comments here. I wish someone would close this topic and stop this intolerable discussion here.

Anne
