Canon + Lexar Announce CF Card Faults.

Tue May 24, 2005 4:27 am

Hello all and sorry for posting so many new topics.

I have an article here that states Lexar media cards having issues where images are lost after the shot is taken. It is funny that this just came out seeing as I just paid for a 4GB Microdrive b/c my Lexar media card kept loosing shots. Not many but a handful. An example was at SJC last weekend for some reason I was shooting a NW 32S and only got 1 shot of the bird after looking at it. Another incident was at CCR a pilot of a private helicopter had a bit of free time and the runway was clear so he started doing all sorts of moves down the runway and I took probably 3-6 shots. None show when I go back and look at it. And now that I'm looking through my shots in my external I see shots 8235 and then 8242. Nothing in between.... Hummmm...

Just a heads up for you all!

The cameras affected are that of the 300D and later.

Thanks,

Matt

Dammit I was wondering why my Memory card would just freeze at a picture and then would become "Corrupted Data." It wasn't a big concern, i've only lost a few pictures (about 3 or 4), but has been on the bak of my mind.

I had that happen with my 300d and a sandisk card. Not an issue for me anymore though as I have a 4gb MD and the 20d

Quite interesting... Do any of you know if this has happened with Sandisk and a 10D? I have a 512 Lexar Pro, a 256 Lexar, and a 256 Sandisk Pro. I haven't had any trouble with either of the cards (knock on wood). Is Sandisk less prone to the error, or are all cards equally effected?

Judging by the modles provided the 300D and above are affected... Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he 10D first?

Thanks,

Matt

I surely hope so, that would save me a lot of work.

The 10D I do believe did come first, and the 300D was a dumbed-down version of the 10D. Now the 20D, that came later...
