Runway 33 : Go to the long-stay car-park and go as far as you can go and get as near to the end of the runway as possible. This part of the car park is new and very handy. You can get shots of traffic taxiing to, spooling up on and landing on runway 33. If runway 15 is in use you can get shots of aircraft taxiing to the terminal and taking off, although this is more difficult.
Lighting is ok in the early morning at this location, but soon gets on the wrong side of you by mid-late morning creating backlit conditions.
I've only been a couple of times this year and so that is pretty much all I can say. Oh, you'll need a small step ladder to see over the fence. Highlights for the times I go are the Continental 757's in early to mid morning and the Emirates 777 (between 12 and 1 o'clock arrival). There are other spots, but I haven't checked them out yet so won't comment, including the viewing area which was great years ago, but the fence looks a bit too much of a distraction these days.
I would like to go Monday morning, but have a weekend of someone's wedding, a house-warming to attend and visitors. Somehow I don't think I'll be able to make it! But on the off chance, if you see someone operating from a dark green VW
Golf, white stepladder, glasses and dark hair in a pony-tail, pop over and say 'Hello'.
