Different Spots Different Motive

Fri May 27, 2005 6:03 pm

Im just wondering before i upload 2 shots .
I dont want to upload then get bad double so i will ask first.
The problem i have is i shot a picture of a plane in the morning and went home when i came back in the afternoon to the airport i shot the same plane again but at a different location and with a different motive .
Can i upload both these pics as i cant decide what pic i like better and they are both completely different.?

If I were you I'd make a decision. There are tougher decisions to make in life, so it shouldn't be too hard.

If A gets rejected, you could still go for B...

Alan

I think they would be ok

Look at these two shots of mine, same date same location same aircraft, but different motive. I caught the first landing then taking off an hour later. Having said that there were at the time very few shots of this plane in the DB.

Hi, Fergul,

What you have said helps me a lot. But is this a kind of general rule for this situation (one is landing, the other is taking off at the same day) or just a chance result?

Why I ask such question is because I had some airplanes landing shots and also had their taking off photos at the same day, about 2 hours in between. But they all look excellent which I hardly choose.

Thanks,

Don't think this a chance result, unless you have shots from MAN!! Kidding Big grin
From the four photos here you can clearly see that they are quite different motives. If I photographed the second one just at the start of the rolling, and the first without the reversers deployed then there may be a case for bad double as the two would be quite similar.

Hope that helps

Thanks, Fergul!

I've added this big ZOOM to be landed shortly into the waiting queue. Based on what you said, I probably could start to edit another shot of it taken 2 hours later when it was taking off (flying away).

Thanks again,

Hongyin,

Nice shot. I have a very similar shot in the queue as I was there at the same time .

As for the original question, I'm not certain but I would assume it would be acceptable to upload one landing shot and one takeoff shot, as long as they are significantly different from each other.

You know the gear is up and locked when it takes full throttle to taxi to the terminal.

scratchchin  You were there then. Hopefully we could say 'hi' to each other.  Smile Would you mind to give me a link for your shot?

Hongyin,

Absolutely, here's the link (though I must admit yours is a little better Sad): http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/big/ready/C-GZNA_052105_Wywrot.JPG

I don't spot at YYZ all that frequently, about once a month since I live a couple of hours away, but perhaps I will catch you around there sometime in the future.

Hi, A346Dude,

A nice shot too.

Why don't you keep the right side stabilizer in the photo?

Hongyin,

Looking back at the original, I cut off the edge of the stabilizer. It does look a little awkward so I will probably have another look at it and re-edit.

P.S. Sorry for hijacking your thread Alan Smile.

Thank you all for the comments I know that people have uploaded some pies that are from the same location and same aircraft but IM still not sure if I should do it and risk a ban.
Im really stuck between a rock and a hard place here.
Thanks again to all

Why would you be banned, wouldn't you just get a Baddouble rejection?
I can understand a suspension or ban if you were doing it repeatedly but I doubt that you are.

This "fear" being instilled in contributors is getting out of hand!

No reason to be afraid, as IMHO you comply with this (taken from the rejection reasons description):

"BADDOUBLE
These photos have already been added to the database or you have
uploaded other photos that look very much like these. Please read more
on this issue in the Upload-FAQ.

Notes:
- You could also get rejection message if there are photos very similar
to these that have passed the first screening and are waiting for the
second, final, screening. Also, generally if you submit a number shots of
an aircraft taken at the same time, only the best 1 or 2 will be selected
and rest may have been rejected as doubles. You can better control
which ones we accept by only uploading the 1 or 2 best shots from a
sequence of photographs of the same aircraft.

- You can also get the rejection message if there are photos in the database
very similar to the one(s) rejected here, but taken on another date by you.

Please check the database carefully for already existing photos of this aircraft
taken by you before uploading new photos and refrain from reuploading photos
which where rejected with baddouble. Continuous reuploading might result in a
temporary ban from the site."

Regards
