Fri Jun 17, 2005 11:12 pm

I have just bought a new CANON 350D.

Can you please advise me which lens should I buy for aviation photography?

Very roughly by cost.

Low

Canon 75-300 USM MkIII
Sigma 70-300

Medium

Canon 75-300 USM MKIII with IS
Canon 70-200 F4 L

High:

Canon 70-200 F2.8 L IS
Canon 100-400 L IS
Canon 300 F4 L IS

To name but a few.

It takes a big man to admit they are wrong, and I am not a big man.

James hit the nail pretty well.... It's all about how much money you are willing to spend!

I use the Canon 75-300mm IS lens on my 350D. Only draw back is sometimes the shots taken @ 300mm seem a bit soft but not bad enough that some sharpening and/or USM can't fix it.

But just as INNflight said, it all depends on how much money you're willing to spend.

Ronenec..

If you decided to buy a good body, as the 350 is, you should buy a good lens. The rest is added by the photographer...

I'd recommend the 100-400 if you'd invest in one lens.

Good choice!
