Unknown Aircraft ID

I think it's russian, at least it had a russian star on it.

I was thinking something of the Yakovlev variety but the tail and wingtips are a bit different.

yeah the tail is off, but it looks really yakish to me

I think if it were a Yak, I think it would be a Yak-18, but it looks like a Chinese license-built Nanchang CJ-6 to me.

Yes, it is the Nanchang CJ-6.
