Sat Jun 25, 2005 4:54 am

Cant believe I didnt get this photo on. I mean i have been trying everything for weeks now and i have been spending more and more time cleaning up my images. I really have lost al confidence in my photography now. I may as well just pack the whole show in. Can anyone tell me how to fix this image up and tell me what in hell is badtoy???

Um, okay...

Excuse my slightly sedate attitude (Maybe I'm too old before my time!?) but this is not even remotely funny.

Anyone else agree!? Or am I just Victor Meldrew all of a sudden?  yuck

I would say badcrop. The background looks blown out, and a bit soft. Did you use Neat Image (or some other noise reduction program)? The image has an overall odd feeling, like it looks sorta plastic, like a model.

I would try to rework the original.

Jdk..

Please, take this as a serious comment but the image looks like a toy!
Tell us what have you done, show the original if it's possible, what camera, postprocessing technique, etc...

I think you need to step away from the NeatImage a bit. The fuselage looks sort of like plastic.

No strings attached just the hand that you cant see holding my £12.00 plastic Ryanair 738! Just a bit of light hearted fun on a dull friday night. Cheers for your comments guys. I will try to re-work the image and failing that i will appeal it. I have great faith in this one.

Cheers,

This is the last straw. It's becoming impossible to upload anything on this site now. We get great pictures like this from Le Bourget and yet all people are interested in are images of that stupid A380.

Back in 2001 when I uploaded 7000 images that were infinitely worse than this one, there was no problem getting them accepted.

if this shot gets accepted expect all hell to break loose. Remember when Johan removed those Hooters Hand Model pictures from the database? That was a nightmare.

One of the best aviation photos ever! The special light effect on the yellow line gives the whole photo a magic aura, delicately supported by the selective unsharpness of the engine & the bright reading lamp sun. The photo should also be marked as incident as I've never seen an airplane with such dirty windows. Well done, JDK!  Wink

I want to know why all the windows are opaque looking.

Is there some serious cigarette and pipe smoking going on inside or is it something more sordid?

Why didn't you ask the screeners for priority screening?

This thread should be moved to Civ Av or Tech ops, the folks there would be more interested in the fact that the Service Ceiling for B737NG has been recertified as.. oh about 2.7mtrs
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

Kinda reminds me of that April fools joke that airliners.net played on it's viewers about three years ago. Does anyone remember that one? It was a solid black photo - with a caption reading "New stealth jetliner. If you can't see it you need to run a monitor calibration program".

The image had tens of thousands of hits before it was removed a few days later.

I wonder what the non-British made of the Victor Meldrew references.

This photo is definitely amazing. It shows how far the low cost boom can go:

In the past, Mike O'Leary saved a few bucks by removing the seat head covers, or the window blinds etc. But these savings have been dwarfed now.... As your photo clearly illustrates, Ryanair now pushed the price for their new 737's from about 30 million USD to a mere 12 GBP! Alone the historic importance of this achievement deserves a place in the a.net data base!

Taken over Belfast by an Aussie photographer made is suspect from the start. That, however, was humorous.
