Badlevel/badmotiv?

Thu Jun 30, 2005 10:00 am

Hey all, I caught this rare one at TUL yesterday..didn't get there quick enough to catch it land but it was accesible from the ramp. For some reason, it looks unlevel, but if you look at the wings, its level. I think it looks like that because I may not have been head on as you can start to see the side of the nosegear tire. Also, this was the only shot I was able to get of it since they left a tug and ground power cart in the way. Is it too tight? I think it looks interesting myself, shows some detail.

I like it! Makes me think of the monsters from 'Mars Attacks' for some reason. Hope it's accepted!

That's a great photo Danny.

I really hope that it doesn't have any problems with badlevel, as I can't see any reliable reference you can use, other than what you have done.

Good luck with it - I really like to see the reflections, too.

All the best.

OK What am I missing here the photo is at a correct size Peter, 683x1024, or do all photos have to be 1024 wide and 683 tall and not the other way around?

Fergul my answer was aimed at Gary who was asking for preferred sizes. As the text I linked to seems not to be sufficient enough to understand here is some help with some selected sizes.

landscape photos:
The first number is the longer side (the horizontal one  Silly ) * second number is the shorter side (vertical one) in a 3:2 ratio and third (last) number is the shorter (vertical) side in a 4:3 ratio. Note that those number dont include the a.net copyright banner which is added during upload and is 12 pixels high. This would then add 12 pixels to the shorter (vertical) size.
1000 * 667 -> 750
1024 * 683 -> 768
1100 * 733 -> 825
1200 * 800 -> 900
1300 * 866 -> 975
1400 * 933 -> 1050
1500 * 1000 -> 1125
1600 * 1066 -> 1200

LOL, I'm kinda confused now. So, is my photo at 683x1024 for a portrait ok? Just need some clarification. I usually upload horizontal or vertical shots at 1024x768 or 768x1024. I was thinking of going to 1024x683 now and vice versa.

1024 x 683 is much better as you will cut out a bit more of possible clutter at the bottom of the photo, like fences, etc...

Yes, I upload at 1024x683 but if there is more I need to show then I go to 1024x768.

Yeah done that too, every little helps when trying to cut out those bloody fences, saves a bad motive! Big grin

Take care
