Aircraft Identity

Tue Jul 05, 2005 9:05 pm

Can anyone help to identify the aircraft type/serial in this image, please.

http://thumbs.fotopic.net/660017000150.jpg?rot=0

I had thought it was a Cessna 421A golden Eagle, but the single cockpit side window and a vertical shoulder where the fin fairs with the fuselage roof conflicts with the illustration in Jane's.

Malcolm.

Apologies for the tiny thumbnail!

Thanks, Sean,

Fotopic seems not to allow me to upload the larger image. Will have to upload to MyAviation.

Thanks,

Malcolm.

Looks like a Cessna 401 to me - look up the registration on G-INFO to get the definitive answer

Well done Andy and thanks Andy!.

It is definitely a Cessna 401B (I didn't doubt you for one minute!)
G-INFO lists three - G-AZFR, G-AZRD & G-DACC, and unfortunately all that can be seen of the reg is the G and only the top of the second letter. That is flat topped and thus could be any of the three.
Guess if I judge the quality good enough I will have to upload as *****.

Thanks,

Malcolm.

Forgive my ignorance, but if the second letter is either A, A or D, then only the D is flat topped? And if you mean Z, Z or A, then the A is not flat topped!

Just did a quick google:

G-AZFR

G-AZRD

Not sure any of that helps!

Forgive my ignorance,

Sean,

Many thanks, I am a victim of my own stupidity.
I was referring to the letter after the G-, and therefore, if these are the only three reg's, it has to be G-DACC. Willo was correct. Doooooooh!
Since I have yet to doubt the basic accuracy of G-INFO, this is what I will go with.
Now crawling back into my shell !!!!!!!!!
