If you have the quality in the original I think it may be an idea to crop the plane more closely - for example, in the second shot, you could centre the plane body and so crop the right wing (as we see it) too. My feeling is that this would make for a nicer motive for the crop, and balances the photo a bit more. Sorry I can't host anything, but in my mind I have the left hand crop leaving the 'Ahead' of that sign, and an equal amount of space to balance that on the right, closer to the edge of the port engine nacelle.
Assuming that quality is not an issue doing this, I reckon this would avoid the problem of the crop impacting on the motive, mentioned above. The focus would then be close in on the main body and the fact that the end of the port wing would be out of shot won't be an issue, in my opinion.
For me, that would work better with the second image, particularly as I like that better because I enjoy seeing that 'tiptoe' effect when the wheels are just touching down.
