Show Us Your Rejected A.net Pics

Mon Jul 04, 2005 7:19 am

Althought I haven't tried, I don't believe any of my pictures would ever make it through the tough screening process. I hereby declare the "show us your crappy spotting photos" thread, started Big grin

This is for all the people who can't afford a EUR 2000 camera and have to live with things like 3x or 4x optical zoom! Post your pics and share your misery...

Thanks dude! I think it was worth getting up at 3 am to be there at 5. I was really not willing to go to the aiport at that hour, but it ended up being one of the most enjoyable spottings i've ever had.

A bit arrogant eh? Your pictures aren't anything special IMHO...same angles, same types of shots that you see in almost EVERY a.net shot. I rather see interesting shots and angles of lesser quality (makes the shots look more alive) than pictures that are taken by the book that look like a cheap prostitute all dressed up with nowhere to go.

The pics that FlyAUA and KLM685 posted are more real to life and have character to them, especially the pics KLM685 posted (why was the cabin shot rejected... those are rare shots).

Thanks for praising those pictures. I will admit though, I never made them for a.net nor did I ever think of submitting them cus I already know the answer. Those pictures are made purely out of boredom, and for myself. But I thought it would be funny to have a thread where we could post our pictures which the screeners would think "sucked"  Silly

I use a Kodak CX7430 which has a lot of features for a digicam... but the one I want (which will enable me to make proper pics) costs EUR2000. And since I am saving for a new Dell computer, it'll be a while before I get the camera!

Yes, I've seen his pics, but like i said it's my opinion (IMHO). I would just like to see lots of variety, and you don't get that here on a.net because it's tough to get pics uploaded. I'd like to see the strict acceptance policy relaxed a little, but that's not up to me, but I can see the basis for it. Jetphotos has some nice pics, and that's where I view mostly. I'm going to try and upload some rare photos from my upcoming trip to Egypt later this summer. They won't be clean, but they will be new and different.

Here are some examples of recently rejected work of mine.... I've uploaded many pics.... yet none have ever been accepted. These two in particular, were, however, accepted to Jetphotos.....

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/ZLLDSC_7454_G-BNWO.jpg

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/ZLLDSC_7032.jpg

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/ZLLDSC_5415_N546AS.jpg

I was particularly upset when the BA photo was rejected, because it is probably one of the top shots I have ever gotten... it only got rejected for bad size though.... and I re-uploaded w/ a different aspect ratio.... X ur fingers for me, that photo is still in the queue....

I cropped and tried to get this one in... but I guess the cropping and sizing destroyed the quality of it and it was also pretty dark. I blew it up and its on my wall now and looks really good.

It pissed me off so much, I left for awhile. I'm back now though.

She rolled out right after a storm on her delivery flight. The storm was east. The sun was to the Southwest, and the runway was wet. Good times.

The reason given for each of the below photos was Bad Distance, and to zoom in more or get closer. At least as per the latter, you can't get it any better than that, any more than that, and you won't be getting the beauty of the entire plane.

I didn't have time to read all the text to go with these photos but (with the exception of FlyAUAs LUXAIR E145 LANDING RWY 06 (3 SEC LT EXPOSURE)  Wink ) all those photos are good, Often I'll go to Myaviation just to see some different, 'not-so-perfect' shots that give you some more interesting views, especiallty on short finals.

Heres My Shots on myaviation.net, They're pretty povrat but I'm still proud of them. It's funny how attached I get to my photos, but I just bought a new Video camera
(really good deal, SGD$1300 from $2300) so my focus may be shifting...

Cheers,

Ahem Ahem... Just kidding! Yeah I admit that one sucks real bad  Silly

I was experimenting with the Long Time Exposure on my camera to see what happens. With my CX7430 I can select different shutter times, which is cool, but I cannot compensate for a too dark/bright picture so that sucks. For some reasons I am obsessed with LT exposures though. Especially because you can see silly details like the interval of the strobe lights etc...

Anyways, I'll make you proud when I have a proper camera one day  Wink

The pics that FlyAUA and KLM685 posted are more real to life and have character to them, especially the pics KLM685 posted (why was the cabin shot rejected... those are rare shots).

Honestly, it was meant as a joke! Sorry if I caused any upset.

I'm all for people posting their rejections, because they might get the help they've been needing to get some acceptances.

I'm glad you appreciate my uploads, thanks for the comments. Your obviously a master..... I really can't wait to see some of your shots!

To me aviation is becoming less and less desirable, I focus on other subjects these days.

I'm not trying to be an armchair screener here, I'm just voicing something that I believe in. If you care to take a look at the queue, there is still one heck of a backlog so why should the screeners have to put up with shots that are, what can we say, crap? I'm not referring to any of the aforementioned images, they are quite good, but aren't up to A.net standards, which is unfortunate!

Quoting TUNisia (Reply 25):
Yes, I've seen his pics, but like i said it's my opinion (IMHO). I would just like to see lots of variety, and you don't get that here on a.net because it's tough to get pics uploaded. I'd like to see the strict acceptance policy relaxed a little, but that's not up to me, but I can see the basis for it. Jetphotos has some nice pics, and that's where I view mostly. I'm going to try and upload some rare photos from my upcoming trip to Egypt later this summer. They won't be clean, but they will be new and different.

IMHO you should maybe take a reality check before you start insulting others! If you want variety, take a deeper look into the database, there are plenty of examples just waiting to be viewed.

I also look forward to seeing your shots from your trip to Egypt, it sounds delightfully interesting. Especially to the likes of myself, with my same angled shots.

I have nothing else to say, TUNisia, peace out buddy.  cheerful

Post your pics and share your misery...

Here are mine. They said that clarity wasn't good enough, and I agree with them actually. Mine is one of the first digital cameras made. I don't take very may pics anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just get upset when I feel others are making fun of others. I'm sure I'll post the pictures on a.net somehow (accepted or rejected)  Wink

I don't make fun of other people's misfortune with the screening regulations, I like to help them out.

The reason given for each of the below photos was Bad Distance, and to zoom in more or get closer. At least as per the latter, you can't get it any better than that, any more than that, and you won't be getting the beauty of the entire plane.

Avi, the 2nd NW shot is most definitely fix-able!

The last two in particular was a sham to have rejected. Two of my favorite aviation related shots.

I get frustrated with the picture screeners, as they all seem to have started to not let any artistic shots in. Just look a few years ago back into the late 1990's, beautiful artistic shots, now they all seem to be the same old generic thing.

The screeners obviously have something against portrait format shots  wink

I still like this photo, no matter what the screeners say.
