Please your opinion on these three early morning photos.

Is there a chance that one of them is good enough to make it to the database!

Please some advice from the experts to Wink

2nd one has a bit too much clutter in the foreground, but 1 and 3 are excellent.

William,

The last one is the best although too soft as it is now. Peoblem with shooting the md-11/dc-10 from behind is always the #2 engine that almost always ruins the shot. I have the same problems on those shots we took that morning.

Cheers

Picture number three is awsome...with the Vortex comming off the MD-11 and the sun comming up from the bottom....Just brilliant.
As has been said, it is a little soft, but thats no problem...can be fixed.

Well Done,

Thanks guys for your help  Smile

So I will focus on number 3 and try to get it to A.net quality.

Tim, is this always the problem with md-11/dc-10 photos from behind or was it the fog that caused the problem that morning.

Cheers,
William

DC10's and MD11's are terrible when shooting straight from behind. Engine #2 turns the whole plane into a big blob of haze. Shooting at a (slight) angle already reduces this. I find the 747 and 777 best suitable for these types of shots, but where is that 747 when the sun is at its best position?  gnasher  irked

Anyway... Nice shots William!

William

The fog made it worse that, getting anywhere beyond 200mm produced afwul results, the fog just took away all detail.

Hi William, great shots! A.net should open a new category: vortices. I like the first one best because of the awesome vortex but I guess there are some quality issues there which will prevent it getting in.

The last one is also super and the softness Tim is mentioning doesn't bother me that much. However maybe it's my LCD screen but I can see some JPEG compression in that one.

But then, thank God for that engine when the runway is wet and you happen to stand there taking rotation pictures Big grin

A.net surely has come a long way when we are actually discussing if those gorgeous shots are or are not good enough for the site. I do not honestly know if I should feel happy or sad about it  scratchchin

My better one goes for the first, for composition. It looks like you were focusing the sun though. I don't know if you try to fix it would be acceptable for the database..
As Javier says how things have changed when we discuss such 'problems'.

Always a pleasure to see yours photos William anyway
