Your Opinion On These Shots

Tue Jul 26, 2005 1:59 pm

I've been working in photoshop adjusting levels using the histogram.I normally do it a different way,so I don't really know if I am doing this correctly.
Something to me just doesn't seem right about them so I decided to see what you guys think.

Let me know if you see any dust spots. I have been working a long time trying to get rid of them.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

They look pretty good here, almost a little bit too contrasty on the AA shot. The first one i smy favorite but you have a few jaggies on the wing leading edges. Multi-layer sharpening and eraser would fix that.

They're not too bad overall. They all look a little too contrasty, but especially the first one. The CRJ is also bit oversharpened and possibly unlevel. The last two are both backlit, which is probably why they don't look quite right to you. Shooting in better light would definitely improve the results.

I think a good thing to use when you are playig wth levels is to use Edit>Fade afterwards. This lets your back off a little bit on what usually ends up being a little too much contrast.

This works especialyl well if you are using Auto Levels. In fact, I insist you use fade to guage how it was applied.

Or just lower the contrast a tad.

I think your shots came out great. I love the AA and the Ted. The US looked like the plane was "levelled", but the background unadjusted at all.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments.

I tried to use that but couldn't find it. Im using elements, so that may be the problem. Is it possible to use that function with elements?

I lowerd the contrast on all three and reduced the sharpening on the RJ.

Let me know if I reduced the contrast enough.

Thanks

I like these. Is that an AA 757 with P&W engines? Haven't seen one of those before.

Like the CRJ too.

Cheers

Yes, these look much better. The AA 757s with PWs are the old TWA planes.
