Another Boring Unlevel Thread

Sun Jul 31, 2005 6:41 pm

Hello

how are you. I knew this one was going to be a pain in the aris when I took it, standing at an angle looking towards a sloping hill, great idea!

It was rejected for cameraangle anyway, I thought it was level but I could only go how the bottom looked and the grass etc. Any suggestion's on how I could make it 'feeeel' right?

thanks for your help

Regards

Gary

Hmmmm ... bad angle based on what ?

im afraid its one of those tricky subjects again ... its one of those if you level it to the slope it really would look iffy

I would appeal it and add some comments to the H/S.

I like it personally

good luck

Tony

Blimey Gary - that is a tough call. I really would love to know in more detail what the screener's view was here that justifies such a rejection.

Using Tamsin's 'aesthetics' argument, the only thing I can think of is that the slope to the ground going down from left to right (currently slightly 'disguised' by having that dividing line between the 2 cuts of grass levelled) could be made more apparent by a bit of CW rotation. That way the downwards slope looks more like a slope. I tried that and the photo still looks acceptable to me - maybe that was what was in their mind.

I agree with Tony that another option is to appeal and also 'appeal' to the Head Screeners' good nature to give you some further guidance if they reject it again.

It's a shame we simply have to guess.

Good luck with the shot.

Hi Gary

The brown line of cut grass makes it look unlevel
I did a 1.5 CCW rotation & cropped the image, see what you think

Thanks Ian, it does look better ill grant you but the grass was unlevel because the grass on the left was making its way up the hill and on the right it was still going along the ground... if you see what i mean...

Well   .

If Ian gave it a CCW rotation and felt it looked okay, and I gave it a CW rotation and thought it looked alright, what does this tell use about this one!

I see your point about that brown grass Gary. Hopefully a screener will see this thread and be prepared to pitch in.

Paul

P.S. I posted at the same time as you did Gary - glad to see it got in. Well done to Gary W. as well.
