Lovely take on the evening departures at LHR. I would like to see a pic like that when browsing a.net. Don't see any big quality issues either  Confused
what seems to be the officer, problem?

Did you by chance use NeatImage?

Awesome shot, but I would try using a smaller resolution and a tad bit more sharpening.

If you look at the grass there is alot of smudging and on the fuselage of the aircraft. Did you run it through NeatImage or something like that?

No I don't use neat image as I don't have the program.

All I have done is basically sharpened the image using USM.

Me reading on the USM that I use on all me shots are 500,0.2,0.

Run that on it a couple of times and I only sharpened the aircraft.

I have not done anything to the grass.

I usually try to upload at 1280x ??? as my monitor is set to 1280. So I like to see the full image fit me screen etc.

IS it worth uploading at say 1024 or 1200.?

Agree with the comments above, hardly any detail in this shot.

Nice composition though, if you can rework it upload it in 1024.

Yes I can rework the image and try at 1024.

It'll be hard to get any more detail out of the aircraft its self as its facing the wrong way, and the light was going quickly, also the heat haze from the engines will create a blurred effect if I sharpen it to much.

Cheers for the replys.

Why do you need more detail? Baffles me that one! Seems this kind of image has the detail it should have. There's low light due to a setting Sun, the aircraft is at an angle where the detail is hard to pick up and it's taken at quite a distance. Now, I'm sure there's plenty of shots out there that contradict everything I've just written, but at the end of the day, I was there when that was taken and it looks fine to me, more to the point it appears as it did on the day. There's detail there, I can't see what you lot are missing?
