Rejection Help

Sun Aug 14, 2005 12:29 am

I have had a Ryanair Tail rejected today, and I am quite confused to be honest.

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/FR7378AS2005EMA.jpg

badsizebadsoft.

The badsize I am very confused about! 814 x 1039 is the size of the Photo, the email has told me it is too small.

"The size of the photos are too small. Please scan your photos about 1000
pixels wide and at least 667 pixels high for landscape format photos, or
1000 pixels high (the longer side) for portrait format photos (with a
high DPI and color depthsetting) and re-upload them. Note that the
minimum acceptable width (for landscape-format pictures) is
1000 pixels across and max is 1600."

The thing is, it is larger than 1000 pixels!

Here is the Photo which helped me along:

This Photo is smaller than mine, but made it onto the site. So is mine really to small?

There is no personal message from the screener, so I am left wondering what on Earth I have done wrong.

The badsoft I can mend.

Thanks for the help!

I am aware my constant help threads are getting tedious, so this is the last for a while!

to be fair i dont think its erm, fair, to use a photo that was accepted a year ago. we all know things have changed alot as of then.

the quality seams to be a bit iffy unfortunatley. try to make it wider across the top

this is one i have in the cue that is portrait

Ryan,

There is another aspect to "badsize" :-

"Another reason might be that the photo has a very unusual size like for example square dimensions or a size ratio way below 3:2 or above 4:3"

I think this might also be part of the problem. I would suggest toy crop the right hand size in towards the door then resize to 1000 high.

All the best.

Not so sure its mendable. While the door looks OK, tail/logo doesn't, and that's probably due to the exhaust gases coming from the APU.

Don't waste too much time on it. Better to get out there and grab a better one!  thumbsup
In thrust I trust.

John,

Thank-You for that advice! I will remember that in future, especially for my 767 tail in the queue!

I wont show it yet, I will in a moment when I have made adjustments.

I am going to the Airport tommorow  Looks like good weather aswell.

Granite, I can show you the original, the grass was like that in the first Place, from the heat from the Plane. To be honest, I thought a screener would think that, and I mentioned it in the Comment to Screener box. If I use Neat Image, I try damn hard to get the grass looking unaffected. Thankfully, I can use it safely.

Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Nah, I may as well show you G-OBYG  Wink:

Hi Ryan,

Regarding your shot of YG I fear you could be in trouble with the width to height ratio. I would crop the right hand side to give a portrait type shot of just the tail. However this is a problem because of that blasted radar again. To get rid of the Radar scanner you would have to crop the tip off of the horizontal stabilizer. Also by the time you crop in that close I think you would go below minimum dimensions.

Apart from the dimensions I would take another look at the brightness / contrast in levels and also the sharpness.

All in all I think you might be better to try for another shot but zoomed in closer on the tail to start with (if that is possible) and without the distraction of the radar.

It is good that you are experimenting with different angles and close up shots so don't be discouraged.

All the best,

John
