Advice On A Photo Request .

Sun Aug 14, 2005 7:01 am

Hi there i just got an email from someone asking to use one of my pics in a publication.

Email.
Dear Sir,

I write regarding your image # 867296. I would like to use this in a limited edition book that is due to be published in October, in Dubai. This will have a print run of around 2,000 copies.

Would it be possible to get a digital copy of this? I require it as large as possible at 300dpi.

I will of course send you a copy of the book on publication and also ensure that proper photograph credits are included.

Yours sincerely,

Any advice would be appreciated.

I received the same request for two photos of mine. I gave him a quote, let's see if he replies...

Hmm...

The guy replied, accepting my price, and he instructed me to send the photos to two different yahoo.co.uk email addresses. He was emailing from a hotmail.com address. Does this sound fishy, or should I just go ahead and write up a contract and send him the photos? Speaking of which, what's the best way to make up a contract on the computer if the parties involved can't actually sign it? Is a simple text contract okay?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Cheers,
Gabriel
