We're All Human, After All

Sat Aug 27, 2005 6:19 am

Hi guys. I have finally been able to get some pictures accepted, and even though the screeners always give good reasons for rejections, I am surprised at one of the photos I got accepted. I didn't think it was that good, haha. Why did this one get accepted...

and this one didn't?

I'm just confused.

P.S. Paul, if you're reading this, my first comment had nothing to do with you. It was a tough picture to edit and you did a phenomenal job, but part of the horizontal stabilizer is missing and the lighting it very bad, in my amateur opinion. Haha.

First off,

I wouldn't question accepted photos as they can be taken down faster than they can be put up. If you really think it isn't of a.net quality then pop a note off to screeners@airliners.net and I'm sure they'd have no problems pull it down from the database.

IMO it's a good shot. Quality is fair, no badmotiv, centered, etc.

The second shot was probably rejected for badquality. Why? Well because it's bad quality. And 1600px wide just opens the doors for the quality to fall. Wouldn't even try with that one. If the shot(s) that are in the database are poor, to you, then I'm not even going to comment on that second shot.

Sorry to be harsh but posts like these are pointless...

Thanks,

Matt

Hi

A bit of a silly post if you ask me. We can easily arrange deletion of the image if you want.

Luxair image is pretty bad. Correctly rejected by the screener.

Regards

Gary

How very inspiring to see a complaint about picture acceptance! Well Antonis, maybe you can try the "upload improved version" feature now!

For the second pic, I would start by recentering, removing noise and sharpening a little.
Edit: and I forgot indeed to mention that it needs to be resized. After all that you can judge if it can make it... Let me know if I can help.

All the best!

Then I would ask....Why did you upload it?

Whoa. I've been bashed to the ground. Officially put in my place, as we say. Thanks guys. I definitely don't want it deleted, I was just confused, haha. Oops.

Thanks EDOCA for being somewhat sympathetic, haha.

Well looks like the Screeners have come full circle.
They have had every complaint possible thrown at them lately.
Is there anything else one can complain about.?

No need for this sort of thing here.
Just work hard at your pictures and be cool

What a perfect summary. Thanks JumboJim747 for putting things into perspective.

I don't see that any intellectual progress is going to be made on the initial question, so archiving the thread now.
