What's Going On A 7dayshop

Fri Sep 02, 2005 4:57 am

Well as you all know I had a Canon 400 L F5.6 + Canon 50 F1.8 on order at 7Dayshop. I have been waiting 5 weeks now and have still not received anything. I have now just received 2 emails from 7Dayshop saying that they have cancelled both orders as they cannot supply the stock....

Also all Canon lenses + equipment seems to have been removed from their site.... Seems they have had some issue with whoever supplies their Canon equipment...

Anyway im VERY VERY annoyed... Why the hell did they not tell me 5 weeks ago if they could not supply it.....

Can anyone now supply alternative websites to purchase Canon equipment at NON JESSOP PRICES

The next best one I found Simon is Warehouse Express and another is T4 Camera's

You might try B&H and pay the duty Simon. It will still work out cheaper.

Take care

Simon,

This may not be of help but has worked for me - have you asked your local Jessops to price match against UK internet prices ? I did this on my 20D and 300 f4 L earlier this year and walked out of the shop with both items at the price on the Warehouse Express web site that day. As a result I got the kit instantly and saved the postage / insurance. I think it is probably up to the local branch manager as to whether or not they will negotiate on price and there are probably still cheaper alternatives if you buy off shore but it's just a thought.

Good luck what ever you do !

John

Hi Simon,

I haven't trusted 7dayshop for a while now.
I wanted the Sigma 14mm lens so sent them an email asking if it was in stock - although there website indicated 'PLENTY', they responded by saying they hadn't got any in stock.

I'm glad I didn't just place the order.

Best of luck,

Ian.
If I could just get the afterburner working...

Quoting LHRSIMON (Thread starter):

I got my 100-400L from a guy called 'Kerso' on ebay, although I bought it from him direct. (£830, brand new delivered).
He can supply just about any Canon item.
He has quite a following over on the POTN forum if you want to contact him, and he will happily phone you to discuss your requirements, or I can give you his email.

Well I have just got an e-mail from 7dayshop anouncing a 25% off on a lot of items. These are mainly point and shoot cameras.

Here is the link if any one is interested.

It seems something is up as Simon said that all their Canon gear is off the web but their Sigma gear is still there.

Take care

Hi Simon,

I think 7dayshop source all their kit from the US, rather than Canon UK.

I've used these guys.

My main source of kit now is LCE Southampton (Civic Centre) Excellent service. You may pay a little more than the cheapest online places, but the service I've received it's worth it. Speak to Tony the store manager.

Try http://www.parkcameras.com/ they usually have good stock of the pro stuff and have never let me down.

You could also try a price match at Jessops, although they will probably take even longer to get the lens in!
