I'm A New Spotter In LHR (and I Need Help!)

Thu Sep 08, 2005 8:30 pm

Hi all,

I'm "moving" to London on Sunday for 1 month time, in Staines, just a hop away from the LHR airport, and I'm looking for some answers to my questions about spotting in Heathrow! I've been searching on the forums if this had been discussed but found nothing really significant. Here are my questions!

1) I'm looking for a good spotter guide or a nice spotter that could show me around.

2) I've heard the use of runways were quite the same all the time. Are there any regulations to morning/evening rwy use?

3) What are the best times to go spotting in LHR?

Thanks a lot for your answers! Have a good one and I hope to meet some of you there! Cheers! Philippe

depending on the wind...

If 09's are in use its departures on 09R and arrivals on 09L all day.

If 27's are in use they change over at 3pm.

Example..

Arrivals:27L
Departures:27R

Time hits 3pm...

Arrivals:27R
Departures:27L

Anytime is good there really  Smile as long as you don't mind BA airbusses your fine  Smile
