Canon 10D Question

Sun Sep 11, 2005 5:03 pm

Hi guys,

I wanted to know if there is any way to check out how many pictures my 10D took since it's first day. Do you know that?
And what is the lifetume of the shutter / camera?

Thanks in advance
Cheers,  wave  Philippe

my filename conntinues up to IMG_9999 and than starts again from zero, and I've been thru that some times already  Smile I guess this is the only chance to know...
About the lifetime of the shutter I once heard around 100'000 pictures, but please tell me it's MORE!  Smile

If new.. keeping an accurate count of IMG#. I beleive Canon have the capability, I am going to ask them when I pick up my camera (having shutter replaced)

Lifetime?? my shutter failed at about 45k actuations.. have heard lots worse.. heard lots better.

At 45,000 actuations, shutter replacement cost in Australia is less than $0.01 frame.. still lots cheaper than film!!

Regards

Chris

That sounds about right because the 10D's shutter has a duty life of approximately 50,000 actuations. The 20D is supposed to be about twice that, but I will believe it when I see it. I have heard of many people getting about 100k actuations out of the replacement shutter as it is an even better shutter.
