Should I Appeal?

Thu Sep 22, 2005 4:38 am

This was rejected for "color". I know those aren't the natural Air Canada colours but that's because this photo was taken at sunset.

Does anyone think it's worth an appeal?

Hi Will,

That's a nice shot, but I think that it might be slightly oversaturated, even for a sunset shot. The red of the Air Canada lettering just seems a bit too vivid. I think if the saturation is reduced a little you should be ok.

Regards,

Tim.

Did you check the "Dark/Sunset" box when you uploaded it?
One day, I might be good at this...

I think screener got it right. Very unnatural even at sunset. I would add contrasty as well.

Hi Will,

I do not think you could make it. And I feel the rejection is appropriate. It looks pretty odd even with considering the time when you took it (at sunset). Personally I think the exposure also has some problems.

Wow that was quick. :p

Thanks for the responses everyone. Seems like the general concensus is that it's oversaturated.

And thanks Chris and Tim for the compliments.  Smile

Will...

Blame me, I rejected it.  guilty
Although I can't see the picture anymore because you appealed it (the link doesn't work anymore), I guess you're talking about the AC 767 landing, right? I found the shot very oversaturated, making the "Air Canada" titles and the leaf look almost as if they were neon signs (Sorry, I lack a better explanation  blush  ). Reduce the saturation a bit and it should be fine.

Cheers,
Eduard

Eduard, thanks for the reply. The screener input is greatly valued.

Yeah, my friend told me to appeal it anyways, so I thought that it couldn't hurt. If it gets rejected again, I'll re-edit it.

Thanks again.  Smile
