Bad Dark Maybe?!

Wed Oct 05, 2005 4:16 pm

Hi All  wave

I don't normally ask for advice on prescreening my photos but this one has me on the fence. It's a little dark and there is some heat haze from the engines towards the tail as well as a bit if noise. But I do like the way the setting sun is hitting the fuselage and the way the water is being blown off it and the reflection. Or maybe it's just one for the private collection. Anyhow here is is and any advice would be appreciated. Just click on the photo to get the full un-compressed size.
Thanks

Hi Fergul,

You know I like the shot.

But surely to goodness that plane looks like it's going downhill - can't have that.  wink

That short enough for you and Jid?  biggrin

Take good care.

Hi Fergul,

Got some similar ones myself, so hopefully it'll not be a 'baddark'. Surely the screeners will tell that is how the lighting was on it, and it's not just underexposed.

There does seem to be a small smudge of something on the shot. About 2/3 of the way down the fuselage from the nose and about 2/3 of the way to the top of the shot.

Take care.

Tim.

It definately looks a lot better once it's opened in full-size. Still looks pretty strange with the "ripples" on the fuselage though!
Water, you say? Had it been to the cleaners? (...or is it a case of "Runaway rain-repellant pump"  Wink)

A little too dark, me thinks. Otherwise, quality looks OK to me.
I like your other shots in the DB better!  thumbsup
In thrust I trust.

Hey fergul looks like a nice shot and something different.
For all its worth i like it and i would upload it but this like you said and others it is a tad dark and they way things are going lately it might be its downfall.
Whatever you decide to do ferg good luck with it.
Cheers

Yes,  Smile trust me Tim and Paul were witnesses, it had just stoped raining and that is why the fuselage was so wet and so where we!!!

Thanks for the comments.

Hey Fergul,

I think the "leveled" one looks better.. I like it, tho we know what happens with photos I like, that may be it's death nell!!  Smile

Cheers

Just in case people didn't get the 'private' joke between Fergul, Tim and myself, this runway DOES actually slope downhill quite notably.

When you are there it is easy to see, and charts show that the 24L threshold is some 40+ feet higher that the 06R end (and this includes it sloping back up a bit right at the 06R end). So if you are into replicating reality, the plane should actually look like it is going downhill, because it really is.

Not sure what lens I had on when that was taken mate. Could have been the 70-200.
