One Of My Photos On EBay

Mon Oct 24, 2005 2:03 am

Hi everyone,
I've never used eBay so I am completely unaware of what is being bought and sold there.
But fellow photog Markus Herzig (whom I hereby want to thank) wrote me an email warning me of unauthorized usage of one of my photos.

http://cgi.ebay.com/2005-PILATUS-PC-...categoryZ45600QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Any ideas on how to proceed if I should at all or how I could contact the guy? After all, the bid is for AU10$.
Thanks,

Ander

Oh man, looks like someone has made a complete work of art out of it too! That sucks!

I would contact the seller first, and ask for... (what ever you feel the usage is worth).

If you get no satisfaction that way, contact EBay and tell them about the unauthorised use of the image, the auction will be pulled within minutes.

Just because the bidding is at $10 now, doesn't mean it won't go much higer later. Besides, it's the principle too, right?

HTH;

Mark.
One day, I might be good at this...

That is ridiculous! I would contact that person and tell them to cease the sale of that Immediately. People have some balls! Steal someone's picture and then make something to be sold? Very nice.  mad

Maybe the seller did not make the cover. It says 'in excellent condition' not something you would normally say if you made it yourself, looks more like he has owned it and now wants to sell it. If he indeed did buy it from someone maybe you should get hold of a copy, or buy that one then look on the back for some form of copyright mark, maker's stamp or something to see who printed it originally then chase up that person/company.

But then again if the seller did do it, rip him a new ars... Um, yeah

Make sure you have the highest bid. This way you'll get it for free. The guy won't have much to complain about.

Actually, it looks as he's just selling a first day cover envelope, so he propably hasn't got a clue the photo on it is "stolen".

I think I'd get in touch with Alpha who do the first day covers. Here's another one...

Thanks everyone,
The item in question has been removed from sale.
Now, I'll try to contact Alpha as they are the ones printing
the photos without permission.
Thanks for your inputs,
