LHR - This Afternoon?

Fri Dec 16, 2005 6:11 pm

Anyone at LHR this afternoon? I know the wx is not the best but going to have a "practise" with my new camera.
Looking at arriving Myrtle Ave area around 13:30-14:00, if its 27R is there anywhere thats in walking distance from Myrtle? Is parking OK or is it permits only?
I've never been to this area so be nice to say hello to a few faces from here.
Cheers
Ian

Myrtle Ave can be difficult to park in. I tend to use hatton Cross car park and walk. If they are landing on 27R, it's about a 5 minute walk to the roundabout by the maintenence hangers

looks like its 27L until 3pm today.
Do you mean stand on the roundabout near the crossing point or the hangers next to the dual carriage way? If theres somewhere around the dual carriage way then great, don't fancy the roundabout.

As it's 27L cross the A30 by the BP garage and walk on that side of the road and you will walk directly under the landing lights. Keep going for a couple of hundred yards and you will see the field on your left. You can't miss it as there will be lots of people with cameras and long lenses there

I drove to Myrtle but they were on 27R so I didn't stop, had a drive around see what was around, saw the PrivateAir 757 land then dived off. At least I know where to go now. Hopefully catch you next time! try to get there more often, Fri afternoon is a good slot for me!
