Suggestions For Rotation Please

Tough one this one.

Rejected for Angle, but I can't quite decide which way it ought to go....

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Rez,

There is definitely a big slope at that spot from right to left. I haven't uploaded any from there myself, but I think people who have level the cross-bar of the approach lights. This itself is not quite level, but about the best reference there is.

Regards,

Tim.

Thanks for your input Tim. I'll level it on the lights and re-submit.

Cheers!

Hi Rez.

I feel I can speak with some degree of confidence on this one, having had a number of conversations with crew members about levelling from this spot in the past.

What you need to do is level that row of small approach lights across the 'dip' near the end of the runway - the ones very close to the ground, not the ones closer to you on the pylons. If they are level then things will look level. By this reference I have it that you need 1.2 degrees CW rotation.

I would be confident that with this rotation the screeners will be happy.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

Paul

Rez.

I have to say, not much   . I still have this needing 0.9 degree CW rotation.

Sorry I can't host the image, but I will email it to you if you want to send me your email address.

The reference I am suggesting is to draw a line along the tops of the little approach lights just underneath the wheels of the aircraft. If those lights are horizontal - and if you had the whole of the runway in shot - then the runway surface itself would be horizontal. You can forget about the horizon in the distance, which is too bumpy. Also, Tim's cross bars are variable and simply not reliable enough.

Drop me an email if you need any further help.

Cheers.

Paul

Rez Paul has it right on the nose, a 1.2 degree CW rotation of your original and 0.95 CW of the second.

Both Paul and myself have both learnt by experience how to level shots from that location Big grin
