Need Help With An Angle Rejection

Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:39 pm

I can't seem to get this one right. The horizon looks level... Any help would be appreciated.

Hi John,
I would do a tiny bit of ccw rotation (about 0.1deg). Notice the painted bar in the building (left side of the pic). Seems to be a bit angled. And I like your picture...

0,47 ccw

Very easy with PS. Select the measure tool, draw a line over the horizon. Go to "image" than "rotate canvas" and "arbitrary". PS automatic fills in the degrees for straight up the line.

The horizon is NOT level. Needs some CCW rotation.

Hi John I would go a little further than Vas, I think your shot needs at least 0.75deg of CCW rotation to level it up.

Good luck .. Jid

This one is more difficult, but I used one of the poles for leveling.

Concerning framing, maybe the horizon leveling is not the sole problem.

the horizon is right at the center of the frame which is unchallenging for the eye. A picture which doesn't invite the eye to move around becomes rapidly dull.
The rule of 1/3 or 2/3 could have been applied here.

I'm not sure at all but maybe it's also a reason.
