Hi Cosec59,

I got it at Christmas, the only thing I miss is the curves option and as far as I know you cant get it as a plug-in like in previous versions. I have been working with Photoshop V5.5 before which was fine but never really pushes it to its limits. So far i'm happy with it. What exactly dont you like about it?

Hi Colin,
I don't like the fact I can't view the image in my pictures for a start.I have been using Photoshop CS but it doesn't handle RAW.
Once I'd loaded my photos via a card reader it was telling me the card was empty yet i could view them on the camera.

Regards
Phil

The Adobe RAF Converter works with images from my Canon.
I like the Editor but hate the browser.

I've never been able to view RAW in "My Pictures", but Elements 2 & 3 open straight into the organiser, which automatically converts from RAW. So if I want to view the pictures before processing I simply open Elements.

I use "My Pictures" to view the finished product as a jpg. Seems to work OK for me.

Must be all these posts, Phill, getting to you!

NEFs show in Windows explorer as previews when you install the latest Nikon Pictureproject, I'd guess Canon may have something similar.
They will also open in PS Elements 4.

After using PSP7 since about 2000, PS Elements 4 is a major improvement. As I don't do really fancy stuff (I try to get things right without electronic trickery) it's enough for me and at the price it can't be beat compared to PS CS2 which cost something like 15 times as much.

I've just got this prog too and am finding things difficult.

For a start, how do I resize a pic to 1024 wide? It doesn't offer "pixels" to resize just "picas" "cm" "percent" etc!

Help!

Hi John,

When you click your crop tool, have 6x4 selected in the resize field. Think its shown in inches. Then when you go to 'resize' menu in the drop down, typing in 1024 should give you that 1024 x 683 size. I think........

weird. My PS Elements 4 can resize in pixels no problem. Do it all the time.
Ctrl-Alt-I (or use the menu).

I have finally caught on to it. I got it for Christmas and was kinda disappointed and I thought I had wasted my $80 but I just found out how great it is! You'll get the hang of it sooner or later. Use Fergul's workflow on the upload page. It helped me out alot!

Good luck :P
