I seem to recall that digital photos were at one time not permitted on this site - or they were at least strongly discouraged. When did that change?
John, the standard of digital cameras has come on in leaps and bounds over the last 3 or 4 years and is continuing to improve at an amazing pace. I remember not long ago one of my friends showing me his "state of the art" 2MP digital camera. Nowadays, that's considered stone-age technology. The advent of digital SLR cameras has also meant that digital photography isn't something that is done solely by Japanese tourists walking around English tourist traps, but is now taken seriously be professional photographers too.
At the same time, the quality of film and slide scanners has increased dramatically, meaning that with a modern scanner, you will get a far better result from the same slide scanning it in the home as you would have a few years ago.
It's an exciting time to have an interest in photography
Obviously missing something....
