Tamron Optics, Any Good?

Mon Feb 27, 2006 11:11 pm

Just wondering about the picture quality of them as I saw a few that were listed on ebay and one at my local pro-shop.

Doors open, right hand side, next stop is Springfield.

I've used the 28-75/2.8 for quite some time and it was pretty good.
Slightly sharper then the Sigma 24-70/2.8 which showed less barrel distortion and is equipped with a bit faster AF, minimal differences though.
Reviews of the this Tamron(and others) can be found on several sites and usually they score a decent result.

My 100-400 is a Tamron. 80% of my pics in the DB are taken with this lens. Works absolutely good for me. And a lot cheaper than an original  Wink
