Why Can't I Do This, With My 350D?

Tue Apr 11, 2006 4:39 am

Why can't I take one photo after another, with my 350D.

Because it is a pain, when I am taking photos of aircraft.

Maybe because the acceptance standards have risen dramatically and Canon is way better than Nikon.  praise

Hmmm the 350D is a Canon isn't it? I've think you got that backwards my friend  Smile Nikons actually allow you to take several photos after each other hahahahaha

Tom..you probably have your camera set to single-shot. Try setting it to continuous frames.

Buffer overflow?
Could happen when shooting in RAW and using a slow CF card (not knowing the buffer size of the 350D this is theoretical).

Next to the viewfinder, in the middle of the camera back, there are two little circular buttons. Press the lower one once.

Oh and it would be a good idea to read the manual.

Just read the manual under what will probably be 'Self-Timer' and it will tell you.

Just press the buttons and see what happens until you get it right.

Tom, don't take this as an attack on you BUT read the manual from the first to the last page and go out and shoot shoot shoot. If done it the same way and it works fine for me. You learn something new nearly every time when photographing. So you don't have to open up a single thread on every problem you have with your camera. Maybe you should talk/write to other photogs with the 350D and the Sigma 70-300 (Right?).

Please take this only as the friendly hint it is  Smile

Tom.

Just one week ago I gave you the following advice...

"Read The Flamin' (substitute stronger expletive if you care to) Manual. There is really no substitute for that.
.....
Apart from reading the manual I would suggest some good books on digital photography, Authors to look out for include Tom Ang, Scott Kelby, Michael Freeman."

I guess you didn't take it..

No one here minds silly questions once in a while, no one here minds helping beginners out, they will tire very quickly of someone not interested in helping themselves.

Cheers

This must rank as the most crass discussion thread to date! May I suggest stop messing about with 'Air Lambert' (eh?) and get slightly more focused!

I presume FS is Flight Sim? Really not my bag.

My point is if you are serious about your photography, grab the manual, read up, start practising. If it is a real technical issue, then post here.

Just a quick question,

I have read the manual about this, but It doesn't tell you how to change this from what I can see. How do you switch the AF to AI Servo or AI Focus on a 300D?

Mines on One-shot focus at the moment and I am struggling to find out how you change it.

Thanks for the help,
Cosmic

Cosmic,

Earlier in this thread I reminded the thread starter of the advice from an earlier thread that he should RTFM!
You likely have, I did(though I don't own a 300D) and my impression is you can't make that adjustment on a 300D. the various focus modes are discussed in the reference section but that may be a carryover from the 10D or 20D manual.

Cheers

Hi,

That sounds about right Chris, that is all I can find in the manual. No explanation as to how to change the mode though.

Big version: Width: 764 Height: 548 File size: 81kb

My guess is that the mode its currently in is the one it stays in. I can't see no AF adjustment button on the Camera. Though the parameters above seem to show you can adjust it? Or the Camera automatically adjusts it for you?

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help,
Cosmic

You don't, because it's impossible. The only AI Servo you'll get is in the mode with the running person on it (sports mode or whatever)

On your mode dial switch it to P, and so on, can't remember the letters at the moment.

Thats what I did on my 350D, but it might be differant on your 300D.
