Any Chance For These?

Fri Apr 14, 2006 6:06 pm

Hey all,

Just looking for advice, as I work my way toward my first upload.

For whoever wants to chime in, I think the light is good, maybe except for on the Southwest winglet. There might be some softness issues on the 757s, though I tried to fix it with sharpening. I'm not confident with my editing at all, as I'm still very green with Photoshop. I think the crops/center look ok and I removed a couple dust spots.

Thanks for your help.

Hello! I'm not an expert but both AWEs are jaggied all over... As for the Southwest, instead, I would recommend an extra kick of sharpening. Again, I'm not an expert but this is what I would do. Check also the center on the Southwest and the sky noise on the AWEs.

Nice shots anyways! And good luck!
Kind Regards, Radial360

The tail is soft and dirty. 757 are oversharpened, are they heavy crops by any chance?

Maybe not the quality this time around but you are on the right track.

Try some USM on the southwest shot and see how it turns out.

OK, tell me if I'm on the right or wrong track. I redid the Ohio shot, and didn't sharpen nearly as much. The original is a little soft, or milky, which probably means I can't fix it enough to meet the standard.

I cropped out about 20-25% of the shot.

Here's a link to the completely unedited shot.

Yes, I know about the dust spots. All I did here was size it down to 1024 x 681. Will someone with experience look at this and let me know if the original is too soft or problematic to be edited to a.net standard?

I am using a Nikon D70s, with a 28-200mm 5.6-6.4. This shot was taken with white balance set at direct sunlight, ISO 200, 200mm F8.0. Shutter was at 1/1000. Size/quality set to Large, Fine.

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi Matt

I can take a look at the original JPEG for you if you want and help you out with an edit.
