My Personal Favorite... But Would It Make It?

Sun Apr 23, 2006 3:01 am

Guys,

I am aware this photo isn't good quality. I'm aware that the aircraft has motion blur. I'm aware that the horizon curves. But my question is, would this photo make it?

Big version: Width: 600 Height: 800 File size: 463kb

The answer is obviously no for so many reasons, but I wonder, wouldn't many people enjoy this photograph more your standard side-on shot?

Let me know. Agree with me, grill me with questions, castrate me, I don't mind. But trust me, it is NOT my intention to make this turn into an Airliners.net bashing session so please don't go there. Big grin

There is a fine line between a picture and a photo. The latter seems to be disappearing.

Chris.

This shot is just too dark and blurry. It's just for your own collection, I am sorry.
But it's nice!  Smile

Ah, thanks, and believe me, I know it's not close to A.net standards. The reason for my post was simply to be thought-provoking.

I wish there was some way that unconventional shots could get their own section or something, however the more I think about it the more far-fetched my own ideals seem!

Hi Chris.

I think you could try MyAviation.net. There you can get your photo accepted... Smile

Chris,

Photo's like that are important to the individual concerned and no-one else (unless it's news worthy). It's what I call a camera phone shot. These type of shots capture the moment as it is.

No because the aircraft in your shot is barely recognisable.  Smile

No

One think I normally ask myself when I take a shot: Could it be done better? Has it been done better?

I think you can answer that question yourself:

Probably, but those people have no say here at A.net.

Javier... I'd prefer a bit more positivity from you  Smile
We listen, but Javier is right when he says:

If it's a brilliant shot and motivation and quality supports the shot, then it will be accepted. Unfortunately it's MUCH HARDER to get these kind of shots right. But you already know this in practice  Smile
