Will These Shots Make It?

Hello.

Spotted a couple of hours at OSL with my canon today.
Here is the result:

Are any of them good enough for airliners.net?

Thanks!

1. A little blurry I'd say.

2. A little tighter crop and a little tad of sharpening I would apply.

3. I think it needs a little clockwize rotation.

4. A tad of sharpening will do the trick.

What camera and lens were you using?  Smile

Hi Andersosl,

I feel the first one looks too soft. And for the second one, if the plane could move a little bit higher, it will look better. The last two shots look very good!  Smile

Not on the computer that is set for photo editing but heres what I can gather...

1: Quite soft. Looks like you may have tried to get a bit of motion blur with that one? Tail is definitely too soft. Maybe applying some USM could help that one.

2: This looks good but its not centred , too low in the frame. Also looks a tad soft and a bit of USM wouldn't hurt.

3: Looks good. Really nice photo. What I do suggest is maybe resizing it to 1024 , will give you a little more quality. Otherwise looks quite good to me.

4: Also looks good. But I feel this one needs some sharpening. A bit more USM should do the trick. Seems you're holding back on the sharpening a bit? Very nice otherwise.

Just my 2 cents.

Good luck with your photos!

Thank you guys!

I use a Canon 350D and a Canon 70-200 f4.
I will try my best to fix the pics before uploading.
Btw, the reason why I am holding back on the sharpening is that I'm, a bit afraid of jaggies after some rejections.

Thanks again.

At least you're starting with an excellent base. You'll be sure to start producing some awesome shots with this equipment. Editing is the other hurdle to jump and master.

In my opinion, 2 and 3 could be winners with a bit more work.

Hi,

For the first one, I am not so sure. However, I feel it might need a little bit CW rotation. Maybe I'm wrong.

#2 and #3 look nice, but slightly oversharpened.

#4 appears a little soft.

For the Hercules, I feel this one is the best. But if the plane could be placed a little higher in the frame, that would be nice.

Just my thought! Sorry about my picky comments!

Andersosl,

No1: You've blown the nose out and the white parts of the fuselage here, and its a bit blurry

No2: Overkill on the sharpening, some strange red artifacts around the windows

No3: Really like this one, needs a little CW rotation and to be a little higher in the frame.

No4: It looks out of focus to me? Either that or really soft....

I also use the 350/70-200 f4 combo, its a great set up

I have rotated the COA, so now i guess that the gears are level. Maybe I'm wrong:

The hercules, higher in the frame:

The KLM, sharped from the beginning:
