Thanks for the replies.
Jurgen, I understand that for you the photos don't hold the same charisma as they do for people like me. It would be a boring world if we all enjoyed exactly the same things. But, it's nice to know that you look at them. Maybe in another ?? years you may be posting a thread like mine saying how much you miss the 737, 747 and even the A380
My first flight was in 1966 in a DH
Dragon Rapide from Elmdon (Brum). It cost 17/6 (about 88p in todays money) for a 15 minute flight. (My mate paid). I joined the RAF as a MTD the same year.
My first flight in the RAF was in a HP
Hastings from RAF Scampton. After training I was posted to RAF Abingdon. The first a/c I saw there was a Blackburn Beverley. It was reversing out from the 'pan'. Awesome.
Sorry, this is turning into a story on my life.
Just to say that I do miss those 'heady' days but, appreciate that aviation and photography have progressed.
Long may both continue to do so and also that there will be the 'enthusiasts' out there to record aviation history.
photographers my grateful thanks. But, to the likes of Mick, a very special thankyou for recording 'MY
' aviation history.
P.S. I haven't received the cheque yet Mick
