I Need Some Advice/help!

Mon May 08, 2006 12:20 pm

i have taken many aircraft pictures before and i'm almost ready to upload some. i think i have some good ones, butthey have all been taken with a digital camera ( cannon powershot S 500) and i don't know if it is ok to use pictures taken with a digital camera. if not then could someone tell me a good camera to get, and will i need a scanner.
thank you for your help.

Nearly every picture on here now is taken with a digital. Go ahead and upload them if you want, and if they are up to a.net standards.

There are many scans as well but most of them date some days back and for older photos the standards are a little bit lower for obvious reasons. Most pictures taken today are taken with digital cameras like Harry points out.
Show us some examples if you can.

Alaska737, nothing is more disappointing then getting a shot rejected from A.Net, especially a first attempt. So if you want someone to take a look at them here is a great place. Many people here can help you with editing issues and give you some great advice. I've depended on these guys a lot in the past. I'd recommend posting some of the pictures here (at full-size so quality issues can be addressed if there are any) before you submit them to the queue (or submit them to the queue and then post links here so we can tell you if it's worth it to keep them in). As of late, the standards for this site have gone sky-high and it is notoriously difficult to get shots accepted here.

This is why everyone should backup regurly! If your hard drive had failed what would you have done? Just my .

Im no expert, but they should be ok if the window was clean and has no dirt all over it, and if they are up to airliners.net standards.

edit: Hey, i see in your profile that you have flown an Islander! How do you like it, eh? I flown one several times and i find it not the most fun airplane to fly, its very heavy on the controls.  smile  I can say that they are very noisy! The one ive flown is used for parachuting ops.

Thanks
