Possible Bad Center?

Wed May 17, 2006 11:48 pm

Hi all,

Would the following image have a chance of being rejected for Bad Center? I was attempting to go for a wide angle feel, to show one of the GA areas of the airfield.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd place it a bit lower in frame.

Bad Center?

Horizontally this is a hard one to get right. I think you're borderline. Vertically though, you're way off... should be lower.

More obvious than the centre (and therefore I am surprised you didn't ask), is:
a) colour has a red cast
b) angle requires CW
c) extra sharpening

Yeah, I wasn't sure. Going to have another play around with it. Just wanted to get the centering correct, then I'll go on to the rest of the editing. Only gave it a quick sharping!

Cheers for the help.

Ok, how's this edit?

I've lowered it in the frame, and attempted to get rid of the red colour cast...

Hmmm, I used the radar as a reference?

Try using the horizon. The wide angle means that verticals at the edges of the shot will lean outwards.

The runway isn't level though, if I was to level the horizon, the verticals would lean to the left?

The radar mast is actually leaning a bit to the left in your shot. By using it as a vertical reference, you make the shot lean to the right.
