Rejection Advices, Quality And Color

Fri May 26, 2006 12:43 am

My acceptance ratio dropping hard lately, is the quality standard raised or are my photos really that bad?

A few weeks ago I ask for the following rejection (exposure).
Exposure Rejection (by Karlok Apr 29 2006 in Aviation Photography)

And I did a re-upload and is now rejected for color and quality. Please point me out the problem on this photo.

Thank you.

Fix the dust spot, check the colour levels in photoshop just to make sure and re-upload if you wish. I can't see any probs quality wise but could be a faint bit over sharpened?

It has a blue color cast to it, and one of the reasons it is hard to tell is that the white body is blown out exposure wise, which might contribute to the quality rejection.

So, the white fuselage is still to bright?

In that previous thread, Jeroen had the answer, and explained it extremely well (good work Jeroen!). The whites are blown, and while you may be able to recover them a little in PS, I believe they are a lost cause - there is insufficient information in the original captured image to be able to save it.

The "colour" part refers to the rather over-saturated red logo and stripe.

Also, a good spot of the spot Peter!

If this were my shot I would not spend any more time on it, and work on some others instead.
