Photo Remarks Field

Thu Jun 08, 2006 9:43 pm

Hi,

I am not very familair with this site yet and was wondering if the remarks field can be amended after acceptence and how this is done. I cant see an option for this on my administration page and neither can you seem to do this through the photo correction option under each photo.

Thanks in advance.

Just click "Correct Information" on the bottom right of any picture.

But it can take some time, as screeners/editors have to do other things as well but it will appear sometime - think Johan is already working on a better solution IIRC.

I tried to just say, "thank you Guys" as I have now made the required changes following your advice. However the forum sytem tells me this is too short a message to leave.

So, thank you guys, it was very very very very very very kind of you to provide this information. Now let's hope this is long enough .. as on occasion you can take gratitude just a little too far?  Wink

Don't know if I understood you right - but sometimes there are things which have to be added quickly to the remarks e.g. when a plane had a crash or something.

I guess it's me that doesn't understand....what would the big hurry be over that?

What difference does that make? Why would that information require an update any faster than any other change?

I agree with Jeff & Georg in that I don't understand the rush to change comments if the plane has a crash etc... it is not a short term thing, not likely to uncrash!!

My experience here has been that amendments to comments do get made pretty quickly in the case of incidents etc anyway.

Having said that if there is genuinly something that must be amended urgently you could email the screeners or database editors... but it would have to be urgent!

If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

In view of the comments above you might like to know that It has taken well under a day for my changes to be updated, which is just fine by me. The plane in question has neither "crashed or uncrashed" since then but it did have a simulated engine failure which was the point of the change I needed to make.

if you want to have a look:- http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1056804/L/

Thanks again for your help.

Keeping the database up to date. But if it's made quickly as

said it's Ok. I don't want to complain here but I waited sometimes a few days until changes were made.
