Centered...

Mon Jun 12, 2006 9:23 am

Man, I used to never have a problem with centered, but now 3 of 4 latest photos rejected for centered.

Thoughts on this one?

There's about two to three times as much space on the left than on the right...

Hi Peter,
it is rather high in the frame in my eyes.

It is too high in the frame, that is the problem. While I were fixing it, I would also address the left-right centering. Otherwise it is a superb image.

Next week I'll be in town. I'll bring the gear if you are around.

On these side on shots, many seem to presume to centre the fuselage forgetting about the rest of the aircraft (i.e. the tail).

In this shot, there should be balance between the top of the tail and the bottom of the gear. Centering just above the windows should lead to a more balanced shot.

Interesting, this "centered" debate seems to have different advice than the last one which suggested centering the fuselage leaving the tail closer to the top of frame (which I don't exactly agree with).

About time the "centered" debate was centered once and for all!

Totally agree with you Craig...

Centering is about balance, not about fuselage.

Here's is a very old post of mine regarding centre:
