Toronto Airport (YYZ) Spotting Information Needed

Thu Jun 22, 2006 1:44 am

I'm based in Vancouver and now in Toronto for a few days. I read a Toronto spotting guide on the Contrails website but not sure if any of the spots has been changed. I'd like to know the spot #7 (a hill behind FedEx building) is still available for photographers. I appreciate if any Toronto local photographer (or anybody just visited YYZ) may confirm it.  praise

Nope. Fedex hill is closed down and being leveled off. However, the street down to the hill is still open.

Thanks Jason! Do I need a ladder to shoot pics over the fence?

Yes, but you'd likely get busted. The YYZ cops don't like ladders  Sad

I agree with the last post -- Ladders are NOT welcomed at YYZ.. Doesn't mean you can't try though.

The other thing you need to consider (and I'm NOT joking with this one).. with all the construction happening at the old FedEx hill, the dust is absolutely insane, since it's been rather dry here in YYZ for a while...

i'd consider another spot..

The contrails website is woefully outdated when it comes to YYZ spotting... Drop me a Private message and I'll run through some spots with you.

Thanks!
