Worth The Upload?

Wed Jun 28, 2006 11:09 am

I wish the titles for threads like this weren't so bland.  Wink

I would like your thoughts on the following photo. It's one of my top ten best photos, and has been used on websites and will be in an upcoming publication.

How will it fare in the queue? Does it need to be re-edited? Of course, it was shot in RAW (thank Yahweh I discovered RAW).

A few more I would appreciate your comments on:

Sorry to dump them all in here, but I figure it'll save us the run around.  Smile

Thanks,

Hmmm... scratchchin ...for some reason, it won't let me post the last four side by side.

I don't think any will make it. Quality issues galore, some soft, some grainy, some with motive, some too dark.

Cockpit shot looks the best to me...

Ya gotta trust JeffM's opinion - he's usually right on key. Sure, he's an old goat - well maybe not too old - and some think he has no heart - well he's had his heart worked on - the doctors tried to inject some sweetness into his disposition - with very little success...  Smile

Top photo a little dark - nice composition though...

Congratulations on your success and good luck in the future !!

I like the GPS in amongst the old features of the cockpit!!! Great shot!

Thanks, Jeff. Could you offer me any pointers. One problem, that I bang my head about constantly, is that every photo I take seems to be far too soft, to the point that it becomes more of a hassle than a reward to edit them in PS. What can I do to combat this?

Also, would you point out, specifically, my quality errors?

I came here for an answer, not hand holding!  Smile Those who know me know that I'm not one to tip-toe around emotions and such.

Isn't that neat! It's also funny to note, though it's hard to tell in my pic, that stickers have been placed over most of the gauges and controls in english. When I was in that cockpit, I felt like I was in pre-war Mother Russia. Big grin

Thanks a lot for your thoughts,

BAB

Here's a reedit I did of the first photo. Am I on the right track, or does the quality of the photo make it pointless to try more editing?

I know I sharpened the second too much.

Thanks much,

Pointless.

Center, dark, grain, level, quality.....

5 strikes...not worth it.
