Yet More Rejection Help Needed

Thu Jun 29, 2006 5:15 am

I have had a batch of rejections recently which I hope I can get some help with.

This one was rejected for distance - it was sort of the point really.

This one for dark - if anything it is lit from 90deg to the right. but dark?

This one for level - it is tricky but I levelled from the verticals in the background. The horizontals vary too much

A huge list of soft rejections - I struggle with these as they look OK on my monitor so I would have to oversharpen them by guesswork.

This one for quality and soft but had a cryptic personal message that said only "haze" (???)

This one was blurry and overshapened ( at least it wasn't soft)

This for quality, blurry and centred. I am baffled by this I'm afraid. I was very proud of this one.

Hi Derek, some nice interesting shots there with some great subject variation. Here goes with my verdict on some of them:
G-ARGZ seems backlit if anything.
G-JBDC does seem a little soft and does need some C/W rotation.
The Lynx needs more sharpening and a touch of contrast and saturation.
N8225Y nice photo, needs a touch more sharpening and a closer crop.
G-ARMZ needs to be centred more left to right i.e. closer to the nose.
G-BRYU needs more sharpening too.
D-AVRN does suffer from heat haze Im affraid also need some C/W rotation
G-IIUI needs more centering.
Red Arrows the Closer HAwk is a little blury.

Hope this helps you, if you need any further help let me know  Smile

Thanks for the replies.

Ahh! Heat haze . Why not say heat haze (in Manchester in November?) There is heat haze at the back from the APU and engines.

Why is this a centre reject? The whole point of the photo is to get both aircraft in the picture.

A bit like this fine effort really.

I'll have another go editing it but I am still not sure about the centre rejection.
