Want To Share A Motive Rejection

Tue Jul 11, 2006 7:04 pm

Hello

I just want to share a motive rejection. Just wonder where this shot is so different to other close ups. Anyway I wont send those shoots in anymore - the message is clear now for me - no experiments! Thought I got everything right with the nice morning light, quality and very interesting details, well ....

NOOOOO Robin,
Keep experimenting... if folks stopped experimenting the site would die... deader than a dodo!
Keep pushing the limits.. reject rate might be high but the ones that get in will be special!!!
If your camera sends text messages, that could explain why your photos are rubbish!

For what it's worth I really like looking at closeups and I really like this one. Looks like some late afternoon light at ZRH here, absolutely stunning to me. I am not sure what would warrant a motive rejection here though. Just out of curiousity, what focal lenght is this taken at?

Cheers,
Sebastian

You cut a window on the right side an door on the left side - I guess that is explaining the motiv rejection.

But please don't blame me if that's not the problem...

Nice picture, Robin!

The focus of the picture is the Gears and the engine not the doors and the windows.

I just want to share a motive rejection.

Might be a wrong box ticked somewhere robin hope a screener chips in here and lets us know .
I would hate people to stop experimenting with shots lets give it a go and see what happens.

I love looking at certain people's rejections... Great shot!

I'd be curious if the motive rejection is because of the identifiable face looking at you from the plane.

I guess the motive rejection is caused by the crop. The main purpose of this shot should be the engine and the tyres. However a portion of upper fuselage and cabin windows have been included. And I could see two passengers faces, looking out from the windows. That might also contribute the motive rejection.

Just my 2 cents!  twocents

Am I the only person who looks at the grass? I thought that might contribute to a motive rejection.

Right, but I let the other people do that, it can be very frustrating ...

Thx vm guys for all the suggestions ... , as unfortunately no screener decided to give a hint I never know for what exactly it had been rejected.
The message is once again pretty clear to me ...

Quoting Codeshare (Reply 13):

Not going to risk that, as said it looks like there a thousand reasons why it is a motive rejection, additionaly Motive rejections are so objective that the chances are very low to get them in via the appeal button.

Thx vm guys for helping me out and giving some kind words ...

Nice shot - but nothing extraordinary. I speak here as a former screener (pats self on back)  Smile Level a bit off with noise on gear door - due to heat I guess... another former screener (Mofo) suggested bad people - but I don't see it since the facial images are vague - no real clear identity here... oh well, I think Peter was joking anyways. I will say - Peter was a screening machine - he was the real deal - there will never be another one like him, but then again, there are a few that are amazing as well - I won't say names til they retire like me and Peter did.

Anyways - if the plane was touching down with rubber burn - or taking off with heat distortion burning in a cool way - you might have captured something special with a close-up like this.

Keep experimenting - don't be afraid of rejection. Sure, it's easy for me to say, since I shoot boring stuff - mostly new registrations so they usually make the cut. But I am here to say - don't quit taking chances Robin - as someone stated above - this site would become very complacent without innovative photographers like you, who are willing to take a chance...

Having said this, I will pat myself again on the back, fill my glass with more whiskey, and look for you to keep taking chances...  bigthumbsup

No I did not. Another member did so but with the incorrect reason  Wink

Which would not have been a reason to reject this photo a few months back. Not sure if it would apply nowadays.
