Motive Rejection: AA 777 Reflecting Sunlight

Thu Jul 13, 2006 5:52 am

I just had this photo rejected for two reasons--Bad Motive and Soft.

However the big question is the motive. The rejection email mentioned "window reflections", but this particular photo (a brand new AA 777 landing at LHR, brilliantly reflecting the morning sun off its shiny new skin) shows the effect of sunlight reflecting off the silvery fuselage of a brand new American 777. I really loved this effect--and was lucky to catch the flash of sun off its fuselage! It was the shiniest 777 I have ever been lucky to photograph.

What exactly is the motive that led to rejection? Please give me more ideas on what you see in this photo that rejected it.

Big version: Width: 1024 Height: 769 File size: 190kb

Please let me know what's wrong with it, and if it can be corrected, please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Francis,

I love the cars reflecting on the belly, but the sun reflection kills it for me. So I agree with the motive. If you have another sequence shot I think it will do well.

Cheers

Hi SmithAir747,

Nice shot!

However, I think the reflections might be way too strong that basically makes that part of fuselage totally invisible that is why NOA_motive is given.

I had a similar situation before. But my case seems not that serious as yours. So it could still make it.

I agree that the reflection really kills it. It's what the eye is drawn to, not the plane.

It is also soft and the colors are out of whack.
