Feedback On Rejections? Please?

Sat Jul 15, 2006 9:38 pm

When I thought I had it all worked out, and after 5/5 accepted pix, I now get these 4 rejections.

1. contrast:

2. quality contrast:

3. quality motiv:

4. quality motiv:

So, I thought that 1 and 2 did have some graining, but 1 was rejected for contrast instead. And why 3 and 4 got motiv? They are not that much different to this one:

I suppose I'm a bit disappointed, 'cause I didn't expect all of them to get rejected; particularly 3. Anyway, some feedback will be appreciated.

Happy shooting,

Tony

Ok this is just my take on the pics with my Anet hat on.

The two motive ones. My eyes kept wondering over the shot looking for something that was different. Something to catch my eye. There's nothing there. I was expecting a different cloud formation or a storm or just something.

The others, well I don't know. I'm not a fan of shots taken out over a wing. A nice view or something to take my eye away from the wing would have been good. But thats just my 2 cents worth. I think that's what helped in getting the one above accepted.

Quality seems ok but they are large pics. Maybe a smaller version may help. There's something there that screeners are seeing that I'm not and that's why they are in the job.

I really like the 3rd one, the reflection's on the wing make it different to other wing photos.

BadMotive? I can't see it.

Eadster,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I will definitely resubmit 1 and 2, with less contrast and smaller size. I'd love to know what the quality issue the screeners saw is (softness? noise? etc.).

Thank you. I feel the same about 3 too.

Incidentally, does anyone know whether there is a problem in the e-mail notification system. Over the past 24 hours I got 2 accepted and 4 rejected, but I still haven't got any of the notifications about them yet.
