How Long Does The Appeal Process Take

Wed Jul 19, 2006 9:00 pm

I appealed this photo 10 days ago:

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/20060705_psc1661_2.jpg

The photo is currently not in the Johan-queue:
There is 0 photos of yours in the Appeal queue that will be screened by Johan.

I got an email with a question from the headscreener and I sent a reply to him. Since then nothing happens except for an automatic email that I received shortly after my reply with this content:

The original message was received at Sun, 9 Jul 2006 23:15:57 +0200 from mx2.luth.se [130.240.42.12]

----- Transcript of session follows ----- ... Deferred: Connection refused by airliners.net.
Warning: message still undelivered after 4 hours Will keep trying until message is 3 days old

My question is, did the headscreener receive my reply or not? Is my photo still in the appeal process or not? What is the status?

Sorry for being so impatient.

Appeals are usually cleared daily.

I remember seeing that one in the queue but not sure if it is there now. Maybe a decision was made and the mail to you has not been delivered because of the recent mail problems.

Thank you Gary, but if it has been rejected why is it not listed in my rejected photos list? And what is the latest rejection reason?

I will point the other headscreeners to this thread and ask them to comment.

Yes, it is true that rejected appeals do not appear in the MyPhotos section. I do not understand why that is. Perhaps Johan will comment.

It is most likely that the image was rejected (under appeal) for the same reason it was originally rejected for. Sorry I cannot add anymore as we do not have the information available to us either.

Fortunately the problems with mail are now almost totally fixed.

TZ i have had a rejection and a personal message from the screener regarding my shot.
I did not receive an email for it and only received an email for my last shot that was accepted.
Does that mean i have lost that info for ever?
Cheers

The original rejection reason was "Info" because the regs on this photo seem to be different (tail and wing). Thats why the headscreener sent me this question:
"Can you explain why it says EC-JBT on wing and EC-JPT on the tail? Thanks, as we have no idea which is correct."

My reply was:
"EC-JBT is right. A sun reflection causes the tail reg. looking like EC-JPT. This reflection is also visible a little lower where the green livery is outshined."

Perhaps this helps to find out what the latest rejection reason is. I have a special interest to get this photo into the db because of personal reasons, thats why I try and try again. If I knew that it has no chance to get into the db then I would not try again. But if there is something that can be corrected then I will correct it.

I'm surprised that this appeal was rejected.
Is the glare that make the B look like a P unacceptable or something?
If that's not it - can a photo be rejected for an entirely different reason on appeal?

Ok, I think the only chance I have is to upload the photo again with comment to the screeners and links to my discussions in the forum regarding this photo. I hope that I then get the information about what is wrong with this photo. After 3 rejections and two forum requests I still don't know why the photo didn't get into the db (and the screeners don't know as well) - I think this can not be the normal way.

Would be good if you contact one of the editors who I am sure will be glad to set you straight.

Once you get your answer upload the image and mail me or any of the other headscreeeners. I am sure we will be able to fast track. It's a nice image.
