Darkness Rejection - Is It My Monitor?

Sat Aug 05, 2006 6:09 am

Hi Folks,

I just had a few rejections, most of which I can (sort of) understand, but the is one was a mystery.

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...big/20060804_Blackhawk-0-23869.jpg

Rejected for dark, but looks OK on my monitor, as do all the other A.net photos which have been accepted. Can you guys check to see if it looks too dark on your screens.

Cheers

Hi Rich,

It does look dark on my monitor. If it got brightened up, it's going to be a nice shot.

I adjust it a bit and it looks much better, IMHO.

Rework the image from scratch, making sure the histogram is all ok (no empty space at the start or the end).

The lightened version has too much grain in it now.

Sharpen using USM and maybe not the sky. The pic will or should be a winner after all that!

Good job Hongyin!

Thank you for your words, Eric! Big grin I just simply adjusted the level in PS in order to show my points to Rich!

Friday afternoon always makes me think the weekend has been started, so I was lingering in the forum to see if there is anything that I could help out.  Wink

Thanks guys,

looks like my monitor settings have gone up the creek.

I will have another play and try again.

Cheers
